January 2023: big waves, had the place to ourselves

This is what you get in winter: dramatic landscapes and big waves
The panorama of Ramsey from Pen dal Aderyn (Bird Head): could run this part of the coast path every day and not get bored
Otto: happy to run, happy to sit around a bit
A little further round: the beach known as Lysgi II. The secret corner where shells collect
To the north, the beach of big boulders on Porth Melgan
And Purple Sandpipers in their traditional spot on the Ram’s Nose at high tide
Can’t believe we’ve not been to the St David’s lifeboat station before: well worth a look and great to talk to the lads on duty and get the first hand backstory
Rear view: shiny, shiny
Poles! Everywhere you go there are memorials to heroic airborne Poles
More WWII memorabilia: mines on the beach at Caerfai. Didn’t appear to deter the after work swimmers
The Cathedral in winter: always feels an unbelievable luxury to have such a place on the doorstep
I can’t believe they can heat it! Always seems warm and cosy though
